To enhance my skills as a martial art instructorI worked to get certified as a Personal Trainer. This involved learning and writing about things like resistance training (weight lifting), cardiovascular training, endurance, anatomy, and so on. Even though the focus of the course was for work in health clubs, the company that my certification is with, the National Endurance Sports Training Association (NESTA) is owned by a martial artist and offers a lot of certifications that are holistic and offered as "alternatives" to allopathic (Western) methods. I am currently focusing my trainingon fitness and endurance using standard cardiovascular work, bodyweight exercises and a balanced diet. You can find some of the books that I study and the equipment that I use HERE.
If you would like some help in this area,if you have workout equipment and need to know the best way to use it, if you want to get in shape and need to know a place to start, or you just want to talk to someone about health and fitness, give me a call (212-2591) or an e-mail. I'd love to hear from you.
